Re: Victory Counters and Rankings

from Superadmin on 03/04/2014 06:49 AM

As we go, the points system is evolving. It seems as though it may be a good idea to acknowledge participation with Victory Counters. So, from this point forward, each player will receive one Victory Counter for participating in the tournamet.

For EDH, it was generally agreed upon that moving forward, EDH games will awared participation points as well as points in the following schema:

  • 5 or more players: the top three players will get points...1st=3, 2nd=2 and 3rd=1.
  • 4 or fewer players: the top two players will get points...1st=3, 2nd=2.

Victory Counters and Rankings

from Dreamlander on 01/29/2014 07:10 AM

Rankings will be accomplished by the assignment of Victory Counters. Victory Counters will be awarded on the following basis:

  • The winner of each match receives 1 Victory Counter.
  • The winner of each tournament receives 3 Victory Counters.
Victory Counters are displayed at the top right of the page as well as in the player's profile.

The number of Victory Counters a player has accumulated  determines both the player's raw numeric ranking for the year as well as the player's ranking title. The ranking titles are as follows:

  • 00 Victory Counters = Commoner
  • 05 Victory counters = Uncommoner
  • 15 Victory Counters = Rarite
  • 25 Victory Counters = Mythic Rarite
  • 40 victory counters = Special Rarite
Once the tournament year is over, points reset and players start the process over with a tenure mark. Example: if a player is in her second tournament year and has 02 Victory Points, she would be a Commoner II.
